* Welcome *
Welcome to the start of your next journey and road to recovery. Together we can continue creating the life you seek, navigate the questions you have, find the answers you want, and move through your concerns to manifest the life you want to live.
* My Focus *
I specialize in helping people with OCD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I really enjoy supporting folks navigating emerging adulthood and/or life transitions, while building self-compassion and confidence. I also support folks within the queer community who are exploring their gender and sexual identities. I am passionate about helping folks with multicultural identities process their experiences of living within oppressive systems and build generative community relationships.
* My Approach *
My therapeutic practice is aligned with a person-centered approach and a strong background in narrative therapy. I aim to create a safe space where we can unravel the worries, events, and traumas you have experienced or endured. Whatever you arrive with, I will support your healing and tailor my approach to focus on your needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and emotion-focused therapy. Building your own voice and accessing self-compassion would be a key part of us working together.
* My Philosophy on Therapy *
With me, no topic is off the table but rather invited in for discussion. Therapy is a place where you can rebuild your narrative in a way that you want it to be written. Together, we can hold space for your pain and help you move towards peace and clarity, and bravely allow a new you to form at your pace. I can’t wait to meet you and start your journey to self-discovery.
* Credentials & EXPERIENCE *
LPC in Illinois
MA in Counseling Psychology, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology
PhD candidate in International Psychology, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology
Prior to Practical Audacity, I worked in IOP and PHP programs that focused on exposure therapy and depression recovery. I also led groups for building coping and regulation skills.
* More About Me *
I am a Palestinian Arab American and grew up as a third culture child. I spent most of my childhood in Jordan and moved between different parts of the Middle East and the United States, which exposed me to a lot of diverse perspectives and experiences.
I am a therapist by day, but a dog momma by night. Lily is the love of my life and a 75-pound lap dog. Mindful running and meditation is a central part of my self-care routine. I am always open to engaging in thoughtful conversation about my areas of interest.
