* Welcome *

At times we may feel we are barely treading water in a storm. When life is this difficult, finding ways to cope and gain solid footing can often feel strenuous. You deserve space to slow down and have your story seen, heard, and understood. I would like to support your journal and collaborate with you in creating space to cultivate authentic curiosity in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

* My Focus *

I specialize in working with people who are struggling with anxiety and depression, trauma, exploring gender and sexual identity, body image, and eating difficulties. I am especially passionate about helping individuals build self-compassion, moving away from body shame and moving towards gentle curiosity and respectful connection to their feelings and bodies.

* My Approach *

My approach is guided by curiosity, warmth, humor, authenticity, and collaboration. I combine several approaches in my practice including techniques from relational, behavioral, and somatic experiencing. I believe that you are the expert on your experience and your journey and will honor that truth throughout the process. I believe an authentic therapeutic relationship based in trauma-aware approaches can provide a foundation for lasting healing. I also incorporate alternate forms of healing to learn to regulate and heal the nervous system.

* My Philosophy on Therapy *

As a trans and queer clinician, I work from a postmodern feminist and intersectional lens where we identify the systems that have negatively and positively impacted your life and identities. I am passionate about supporting members in the LGBTQIA+ community on their journal of radical self-acceptance, integration, and reclaiming pleasure and play. I also utilize a Health At Every Size (HAES) framework to support and honor people of all sizes, races, ethnicities, genders, dis/abilities, orientations, and religions, in order for them to feel valid, valued, and respected in their search for joy and meaning.

* Credentials & EXPERIENCE *

  • LCPC in Illinois

  • MA in Sport and Health Psychology, Adler University

Before arriving at Practical Audacity, I worked in residential milieu programs for adults with co-occurring disordered eating and mood/anxiety disorders as an individual/family therapist.

* More About Me *

I come from a large family and am comfortable navigating the loud and chaotic moments as well as holding space for the quiet, soft moments. On the weekends, I enjoy finding the balance of high energy activities like jamming to some classic rock and going to the lake as well as restorative activities - soft music, tinkering on puzzles and projects, and hanging out with my cats.
