* Welcome *

Life rarely ever goes as planned. When we stumble on our journey it can often be hard to get back on your feet without a little extra help– and that’s what I’m here for! Counseling is a deeply collaborative process. Together we will explore your goals, values, and meaning in your life to help you live the way you want. As the expert of your own experience, I help you gain insight, make positive changes, and express yourself in ways that make you feel heard in a compassionate, non-judgemental environment.

* My Focus *

Creativity and compassion go hand-in-hand in my practice. Exploring inner worlds is an exciting and thought provoking process, which best pairs with a bit of creative self-expression. I am here to guide you on your journey of self-discovery and creating meaning in whatever way it manifests to you. I enjoy working with a diverse group of people from every race, nationality, sexual orientation, age, ability, and class. Every human is unique and deserves to be treated as such.

* My Approach *

I greatly enjoy working with people who have a desire to explore themselves and gain insight into their lives. I strive to teach you to ask “Why?” and then help you find the answers to that question. I believe that understanding ourselves is the first step in the healing process.

My clinical approach is eclectic, meaning I will assess your current needs, goals, and personality to find the approach that will work best for us. The theories I find myself using most often are CBT, REBT, Existentialism, Person-Centered, and Narrative, with a splash of Psychodynamic thrown in for extra flavor.

Ultimately, in our journey together, I want you to be able to identify beliefs and thoughts that aren’t working for you, and work together to change them. I take great pride in letting my clients decide what is best for them, and accompanying them as they meet the goals they have set for themselves.

* My Philosophy on Therapy *

Therapy is a collaborative process. As a therapist I am not here to tell you how to live your life; instead I help you find what is important to you and help you attain it. However, this can be difficult due to systemic factors that often oppress or limit us. It is my goal to help empower you to be your true self comfortably, despite these systemic factors. Intersectionality, decentering whiteness, and unlearning harmful societal beliefs are things I focus on in my work.

Through empathetic, non-judgemental listening and fostering insight, therapy helps a person find meaning and become comfortable in their own skin. Ultimately, what therapy is about should be decided by you; my education and clinical experience allows me to serve as a guide to help you reach your end goal.

* Credentials & EXPERIENCE *

  • MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Lewis University

Before beginning my journey with Practical Audacity I was an intern at Ramos & Associates Behavioral health. There I worked with a diverse population to address a myriad of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, OCD, eating disorders, and adjustment disorders.

During my previous employment I worked as an Employment Specialist for people with disabilities. In my work I was able to advocate for and better get to know many people with varying disabilities and help them meet their employment goals through 1 on 1 coaching.

* MORE ABOUT ME *

I am a proud member of the Chicagoland queer community! In my free time you can often find me picking up a new craft, baking, playing video games, or having friends over for D&D/board game nights. I have two lovely cats named Calvin and Hobbes who I love more than anything!
