* Welcome *
You are feeling misunderstood and frequently find yourself overthinking. You feel stuck and unsure of how to get back to your authentic self. My cornerstone belief is that you are doing the best you can with the strengths and tools you already have. I recognize the complexities of the human experience and want to honor your unique story. Through a foundation of compassion and trust, I strive to meet others where they are at, guide them towards a deeper understanding and connection to themselves.
* My Focus *
I specialize in working with folks who struggle with OCD, ADHD, trauma, depression and anxiety. I am particularly passionate about working with 2SLGBTQ+ clients and strive to hold healing and compassionate space throughout the therapeutic process. I aim to identify ways to empower clients by focusing on values and finding out what's most important to them. We will uncover strengths and specific ways to overcome challenges while getting comfortable navigating the ups and downs of life.
* My Approach *
My therapeutic approach is rooted in affirmative acceptance and commitment therapy, intersectionality and mindfulness based theories. This entails practicing acceptance, committed action and value-guided behaviors. In practice, this looks like a deep dive into figuring out what matters most to clients and having them live out these values in daily life. Throughout my work with clients, we will aim to develop forms of self-acceptance and infuse ways to break free from shame cycles and normative pressures.
* My Philosophy on Therapy *
My goal is to create a safe and collaborative space for folks to come and explore their most authentic and intimate selves. I prioritize moving at each client’s individual pace and following their lead in order to fulfill their goals and desired change. Through this process, I will prioritize cultural responsiveness, recognize societal barriers, and hold space for the complex identities that exist within each of us. You are the expert of your experience and it is an honor to witness and sit with you in the unraveling, rediscovering and healing of your journey and your truth.
* Credentials & EXPERIENCE *
LCSW in Illinois
MA in Social Work, Walden University
Before working at Practical Audacity, I began my clinical work in residential foster care facilities as a residential therapist. I had the privilege to learn through my clients in ways I never expected. From there, I stepped into the world private practice where I served individuals and families with a diverse set of needs.
* MORE ABOUT ME *
Outside of my professional life, I love to garden, take my puppy on walks along the lake and dance to records in my living room like no-one is watching. I am Chicago born, proudly queer and neurodivergent, and a lover of learning new things.
